According to an article published in Canada Free Press today, North America has plenty of fuel.  Besides hinting that there isn’t any need for energy-related panic attacks (or using corn for ethanol, for that matter), the article addresses climate change.

My favorite paragraph from the article:

Even in North America, we are not running out of fuels. Between the Bakken, the Marcellus Shale, Alberta’s tar sands, and two centuries worth of coal, North America is rich in fossil fuels. What we now face is our own decision not to use them.

I’m not against ethanol, although I AM against rising food prices and rationing.  It makes more sense to develop and use the fossil fuels we have now.  Meanwhile, we can invest in long-term, practical methods of mass-producing ethanol from cellulosic sources like switch grass and waste wood.
