Hurrah for our export growth!

According to this letter to the Editor (Jamestown Sun), North Dakota had the highest growth rate for exports in the nation this past year.  Our economy is doing well, and our education system is coming along.  I look forward to finding out more about adequacy in education during the next legislative session.

Here is the first paragraph from the letter, written by Karen England from Fargo:

It’s great to see North Dakota has gone from second to first in the nation in export growth, growing another half a billion dollars from last year. This rate is nearly three times more than the national rate. This is good news, not only for North Dakota manufacturers and ag producers, but the entire state. After trade mission trips to South America, we may expect our exports to grow even more.

England indicated that much of our recent growth is due to the leadership of Gov. Hoeven and Lt. Gov. Dalrymple.  They certainly have been catalysts for change.

Other catalysts deal with the energy industry–our emerging wind power, our oil boom, our steady coal supply and the research and development of biomass fuels.

ND has synergy.

I for one could not be happier for N Dakota. (Yes, I live elsewhere but “yeah” for N Dakota…my home for oer 20 years.) Kent Sherwood
