Apparently North Dakota has a new director for its Workforce, Safety and Insurance agency. I know a lot of people aren’t happy about the pick–Bryan Klipfel, former head of the N.D. Highway Patrol is the new director and Clare Carlson, former policy adviser and state legislator is the deputy director and public affairs officer. While it makes sense that some people are skeptical because the director doesn ‘t have much experience with insurance, I have to think that any permanent choice at this point isn’t a bad thing. Perhaps a permanent choice will give the agency some solidity and allow it to move past the problems it’s had in the past.
