According to this KX News article, the real estate industry in North Dakota is doing reasonably well.  While there were slightly fewer homes sold in the Bismarck area this year and although they sold for slightly less than they would have the prior year, agents and builders cited in the article indicated that North Dakota [...]

I really loved this article and wanted to share it again.  (Pay attention to the real estate prices and the school scores this guy talks about.)

An AP article by Dale Wetzel brings to light some of the issues surrounding North Dakota’s ban of the sale of hunting rights separate from the land itself.  According to the article, Some legislators believe that hunting rights should never be sold without the property because it makes it difficult to determine who has rights to the [...]

According to this Minot Daily News article, money from oil and gas leases will help pay for 200 new homes on the Fort Berthold Reservation. The reservation, which has a great need for housing, is situated over the Bakken oil formation in northwestern North Dakota.

We’re on vacation–I’m writing from Utah today.  My husband and little brother were joking about North Dakota this morning.  ”Our slogan is We’re farther away than South Dakota,” my husband said, and we all laughed.   ND is still a good natured joke with my loved ones, in spite of my efforts to get them to move there. I wondered what that idea will do to small towns [...]

According to an article on the KX News site, a petition is going around the state to try to ban the hunting of big game animals like deer and elk on private lands where they are raised.  Another group of activists, including one Shawn Schafer, has banded together as a group called Citizens to Protect [...]

According to this article  printed in the Bismarck Tribune, the real estate industry in the Bismarck-Mandan, North Dakota area is remaining steady.  It seems the slight dips during the late fall and winter months are typical, and while sales are a little slower now, no one expects them to stay slow–especially with all the new construction going [...]

Apparently it isn’t just housing that is increasing in value.  According to this article posted at Dakota Farmer, crop land in North Dakota increased by an average of 20 percent in 2007.  Some real estate which rose by about $50 an acre during the four previous years rose by about $140 an acre this past year.   Thanks to Ethanol Statistics [...]
