In an article entitled Many States Appear To Be In Recession, North Dakota is listed among a few energy-producing states that are economically strong.  Non-energy producing states are struggling more.  From the article:
Some states “have declined so much that they appear to be in a recession,” the NCSL report said.
It also noted the silver lining [...]

According to an article published in Canada Free Press today, North America has plenty of fuel.  Besides hinting that there isn’t any need for energy-related panic attacks (or using corn for ethanol, for that matter), the article addresses climate change.
My favorite paragraph from the article:
Even in North America, we are not running out of fuels. Between the Bakken, the [...]

According to an article on the KX News site, a petition is going around the state to try to ban the hunting of big game animals like deer and elk on private lands where they are raised.  Another group of activists, including one Shawn Schafer, has banded together as a group called Citizens to Protect [...]

According to historian/scholar/Bismarck Tribune columnist Clay Jenkinson, the Agraria Restaurant in Washington, D.C. is something that North Dakotans can be proud of.  From the article:
My fear was that we’d wind up saying Agraria was pretty good for a North Dakota restaurant in the District of Columbia. I could not have been more wrong. Agraria is [...]

We don’t get alligators in our kitchens in North Dakota.

“It’s funny how North Dakota sticks with me,” he said.  “It’s what I long to build and create around me, wherever [...]

The Minot Daily News published an article about the 2008 North Dakota Tourism Conference today.  One of the awards presented at the Governor’s Travel and Tourism Awards Luncheon yesterday was the Event of the Year, which went to the North Dakota State Fair.
My personal experiences at the North Dakota State Fair have always been wonderful.  The fair [...]

You don’t have to have seen the Phoenix Lights Monday or be afraid of global warming to make a difference.  Celebrating Earth Day can be as simple as talking with your kids about recognizing the consequences of their decisions and taking personal responsibility for them.
That said, there are plenty of venues available to open those discussions.  For people who [...]

Apparently it isn’t just housing that is increasing in value.  According to this article posted at Dakota Farmer, crop land in North Dakota increased by an average of 20 percent in 2007.  Some real estate which rose by about $50 an acre during the four previous years rose by about $140 an acre this past year.
Thanks to Ethanol Statistics for [...]
